A Simple Checking account is designed to make managing your money effortless. At BluCurrent, our Simple Checking account has no monthly fees, no minimum balance requirements, a free debit card, and nationwide ATM access—giving you everything you need for easy everyday banking.

Opening a Simple Checking account is easy. Just fill out our online application, and a member service representative will reach out to confirm your information and finalize your account setup.

Keep in mind that you'll need to be a BluCurrent Credit Union member to open an account—but don't worry! If you're not a member yet, we'll guide you through the process as we set up your Simple Checking account.

Yes, to be able to be a part of our credit union family, you need to meet at least one of the following requirements:

• Live or work in one of the qualifying Southwest Missouri counties:

  Christian, Greene, Howell, Jasper, Lawrence, Newton, Polk, Stone, Taney, Webster

• Be an employee or member of a qualifying organization (Select Employee Groups)

  Abel Body Company, Don's Machine Shop, Eagle Picher, Fibrex

• Be an active or retired postal, federal or military employee who live in one of the qualifying Missouri counties

  Barry, Barton, Benton, Camden, Cedar, Christian, Dade, Dallas, Douglas, Greene, Hickory, Howell, Jasper, Laclede, Lawrence, McDonald, Newton, Ozark, Polk, St. Claire, Stone, Taney, Texas, Vernon, Webster, Wright

• Have an immediate family member who is eligible for membership at BluCurrent

  Spouse, Child, Sibling, Parent, Grandparent, Grandchild, Aunt, Uncle, Niece, Nephew, First Cousin, Legal Guardian, In-Law, Legally Adopted Relationship

Yes. At BluCurrent Credit Union, our deposit accounts are covered by the NCUA (National Credit Union Administration) for up to $250,000.

You can expect to receive your complimentary debit card within two weeks of the Simple Checking account opening.

If you opt into our free Overdraft Protection Services and link your checking and savings accounts, you'll only be charged a $2 Overdraft Transfer fee if your Simple Checking account overdrafts. You can see a detailed fee schedule for all our accounts here.
