Helpful Tips to Keep Your Accounts Safe
Here are a few tips to help keep your accounts safe:
- Be cautious of unsolicited emails or messages asking for personal information, requiring a link to be clicked, or requiring an urgent action.
- Its always safer to look up the merchant's customer service number or website, before taking the information provided as matter of fact.
- Regularly monitor your accounts for any unfamiliar transactions.
- Use secure payment methods and websites when shopping online.
- Use caution when someone insists that you can only pay with cryptocurrency, a wire transfer service like Western Union or MoneyGram, a payment app, or a gift card.
- Be wary of individuals requesting you to deposit a check into your account and transfer the money back to that individual or another person/place.
- If something feels wrong, stop and speak with someone you trust.
