What is a safe deposit box?

A safe deposit box is a secure container kept under 24/7 surveillance behind steel vault doors that is used to safely store valuables.

 

What can be stored in a safe deposit box?

Documents that need to be protected, but do not need to be accessed regularly, such as birth certificates, title papers for your vehicle, the deed to your home, estate/trust documents, medical documents, power of attorney, last will and testaments. Family heirlooms and jewelry are also frequently stored in a safe deposit box.

 

How much does a safe deposit box cost?

The cost of a safe deposit box depends on the size. BluCurrent offers four sizes that range from $15 to $67 per year:

3”x5”: $15/year

3”x10”: $27/year

5”x10”: $40/year

10”x10”: $67/year

 

The fee for safe deposit boxes are assessed annually on 02/01 and are automatically taken from your BluCurrent account.

 

How do I open a safe deposit box?

To open a safe deposit box, simply stop by our South National location (located 4520 S National Ave Springfield, MO 65810). If you do not already have a BluCurrent account, you will first need to open an account. If you already have a BluCurrent account, you will just need to bring your ID for verification purposes.

A $25 key deposit will be collected to open the safe deposit box, along with prorated rent for the year.

 

How do I access my safe deposit box?

You can access your safe deposit box during lobby hours; Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. A key and valid ID is required to access your box.
