Steps to Finalize Buying a Vehicle

Congratulations on your new ride! Although it might be tempting to breathe a huge sigh of relief, you want to make sure the process is truly finished. Once the search is over and the financing is taken care of, it’s important to take a few final steps to complete the process.

Step 1: Provide proof of insurance.

Before driving a vehicle off the lot, it’s required by law to have insurance coverage. It’s just as important to ensure that you notify BluCurrent of this coverage. Getting the required coverage and providing proof of insurance is important to avoid added premium coverage on your loan. Check out this helpful guide to learn how to provide us with proof of insurance.

Step 2: Title & pay sales tax on your vehicle.

According to the Department of Revenue, you have 30 days from the date of purchase to title and pay sales tax on your newly purchased vehicle in the state of Missouri. To title a vehicle, you must provide documentation (such as driver’s license, proof of residency and other documents) and pay a small title and processing fee. Check out this helpful guide on the Department of Revenue site for a full list of required documents and associated fees.

Step 3: Consider additional protection.

When you finance your ride through BluCurrent, you have access to added protection for your vehicle: Guaranteed Asset Protection & Debt Protection. These optional products provide protection beyond typical auto insurance. Learn more about these optional products on our auto loans page or contact us for more information.
