Year in Review: 2018 at BluCurrent

From fun events, giveaways and everything in between, 2018 was a great year to #bankwithblu! We have to give credit to our awesome staff, incredible Board, and outstanding members for making this one of the best (and most fun) years yet. Here is a quick recap of some of the fun we had in 2018:

#partywithblu: BluCurrent Member Events

If you haven't been to a BluCurrent party, you're missing out! In April, we hosted our Annual Meeting at Andy B's. Each attendee was treated to dinner, bowling & games. As an added bonus, each person had the chance to win one of 14 prizes.

In June, we partnered with 30 local businesses and hosted our 3rd Annual Block Party at our Nixa Branch. Over 350 people were treating to free food and entertainment. Our 3rd Annual Kearney Block Party in September featured 28 local businesses and over 450 attendees.

In November, we hosted our biggest party of the year: more than 630 BluCurrent members and their families joined us for our 5th Annual Member Appreciation Party.

In addition to the all-member events we held, we offered three fun Kids Club member exclusive events. In March, we introduced all of our Kids Club members & their families to our new mascot, Blu at our Madagascar Kids Club Event. Attendees were invited to join us at Springfield Little Theatre for a special performance of Madagascar, Jr. – The Musical Adventure. As an added bonus, guests were treated to dinner & activities (including a private meet & greet with the cast). In July, our Kids Club members were invited to Kids' Day at the Springfield Art Museum, which featured hands-on gallery activities, art making & more. Last, but definitely not least, we hosted our 4th Annual Breakfast with Santa at Incredible Pizza in December. Kids Club members and their families were able to enjoy breakfast, get their picture taken with Santa, and of course spend time playing in the arcade room.

#blugivesback: BluCurrent Community Involvement

At BluCurrent, we are dedicated to building better lives together. That's why we are proud to support local non-profits that make our community such a great place to live & work.

We started the year with our first ever Volunteer Appreciation Lunch in January. Community volunteers were treated to a special luncheon, live entertainment and a chance to win a monetary donation for their favorite non-profit.

We had the privilege to give monetary donations to over 55 deserving non-profits. Our staff worked with more than 30 non-profit organization and served over 780 community service hours. Harmony House, Help Give Hope, Habitat for Humanity, The Victim Center, Diaper Bank of the Ozarks, Care to Learn, Springfield Public Schools, and OACAC are just a few organization that we were able to help serve throughout the year.

#blubonus: Sweet Treats, Giveaways & More

In addition to free events, we were able to offer several "blubonuses". Some of these bonuses include free shred & recycling, free Pinapple Whip, the ability to open a CD online, Skip-A-Pay (featuring online application) and many giveaways (like our Holiday BluBonus).
