The BluCurrent Memorial Scholarship Program was established in 1994 as a way to honor former elected officials, while
also helping young members of the credit union that plan to pursue higher education. Since its inception, the scholarship
has awarded over $50,000 to over 40 southwest Missouri high school seniors. Click below to view past winners.
BluCurrent Gary Mason Memorial Scholarship - 2016
Logan-Rogersville High School graduate. Gunnar plans to attend Harvard University, where he will major in Mechanical Engineering.
Gunnar plans to utilize his degree for construction of smart structures.
Parkview High School graduate. Samantha plans to attend Missouri State University,
where she will major in Early Childhood Education, with an emphasis in Special Education or Deaf Education
New Covenant Academy graduate. Matthew plans to attend Liberty University, where he will major in
Global Studies and minor in Teaching English. Matthew hopes to minister in a third-world country through teaching English.
BluCurrent David Bailes Memorial Scholarship - 2015
Parkview High School graduate. Kara plans to attend the University of Missouri-Kansas City,
where she'll major in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Her career goal is to become an orthopedic surgeon.
Claussen Home School Academy graduate. Lauren plans to attend Thomas Edison State College,
majoring in Liberal Studies, with an emphasis in Biomedical Sciences and Technologies. Lauren hopes to become an occupational therapist.
Willard High School graduate. Kaelyn plans on attending Missouri University of Science &
Technology, where she'll study Chemical Engineering. Kaelyn hopes to work in pharmaceuticals and polymer science.
BluCurrent John Schlichting Memorial Scholarship - 2014
Aurora High School graduate. Juliana plans to attend Evangel University
to pursue a degree in Music Education. Juliana hopes to teach vocal and instrumental music at the elementary and high school level.
Nixa High School graduate. Katie plans to attend Missouri State University where she hopes
to complete the pre-medicine program before going on to medical school. Katie's goal is to one day conduct medical research for St. Jude.
Logan-Rogersville graduate. Carlee plans to attend Oklahoma State
University, majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Veterinary Option. She hopes to eventually start her own veterinary clinic.
BluCurrent Harry Witherspoon Memorial Scholarship - 2013
Claussen Homeschool Academy graduate. Louis, a lifetime member of
BluCurrent, plans to attend Missouri State University to pursue a degree in Music - Piano Performance.
Central High School graduate. Pamela plans to attend Drury University
to pursue a degree in Molecular Biology before going on to medical school to become a Pediatric Oncologist.
Ozark High School graduate. Coy, who has only missed 1 day of school
during his entire high school career, plans to attend University of Missouri to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering
before going on to enlist as a Commissioned Officer with the United States Marine Corps.
BluCurrent Richard Wheeler Memorial Scholarship - 2012
Ozark High School graduate. Luke plans on attending the University of Missouri to pursue his degree
in strategic management before going on to dental school.
Glendale High School graduate. Savanna plans on attending William Jewell College to pursue her degree
in nursing before going on to become a nurse practitioner.
Parkview High School graduate. Joseph plans on attending Loyola University to pursue his degree in
business administration before going on to get his masters in business administration.
BluCurrent Joy Jones Memorial Scholarship - 2011
Aurora High School graduate. She plans to attend Evangel University
to pursue a bachelor's degree in music education and vocal performance.
Glendale High School graduate. He plans to attend Drury University
to pursue a bachelor's degree in English literature.
Central High School graduate and valedictorian. She plans to attend
either Duke University or Vanderbilt University to pursue a bachelor's degree in biological and life sciences before
beginning medical school.
